12 Days – 1000ks: Running for Brain Cancer Research
12 Days – 1000ks: Running for Brain Cancer Research
Story
On June 15th I will be taking on an epic 12 day challenge to represent and support the Mark Hughes Foundation during beanies for brain cancer round in the National Rugby League.
I will be running from AAMI Park in Melbourne to McDonald Jones stadium in Newcastle. I plan to average roughly 80-85km per day with a total distance of 1100km for the 12 days. We will be using some of the NRL clubs as our check points to create more exposure and awareness throughout different communities. Raising more awareness can only lead to raising more funds to help anyone affected by brain cancer with the potential of a better quality of life and hopefully we can save many lives along the way.
Mark has done an amazing job with this foundation and is a massive inspiration to the people of Newcastle and the Hunter Region. It’s a privilege to be jumping on board with such a great team and even though it’s still six months away I can’t wait to get out there and hit the road!
We are looking for some people to jump on board as our support crew. Whether you want to run part of the course or help me stay sane when I’m running through Mt Druitt at 5am. Also if anyone is interested in sponsoring the event we’d love to hear from you. It will be a great way to promote your business!!
Anyway I better run (dad joke)🏃
